Story: Thanks to some help from his old friends, the Doctor receives a message to meet River Song in Roman England. She passes along to him the last painting by Vincent van Gogh: a representation of the TARDIS exploding, with hidden coordinates corresponding to their current time and location. From the title of the painting — The Pandorica Opens — the Doctor realizes that the legendary Pandorica, a box built to hold the most feared creature in the universe, must be hidden nearby. The obvious location: Stonehenge.

Upon investigating Stonehenge, the Doctor swiftly discovers a passageway under the altar stone, leading to an underground chamber containing a large, mysterious box: the Pandorica. Easy to break into, the Doctor deduces, but before doing something so rash, he wants to know what's inside... Time is short, though, for no sooner have they begun to investigate the Pandorica than River realizes it's beaming out a message throughout all of time and space, attracting a variety of alien species, all of whom want the Pandorica for themselves. The Doctor is determined to stand up to the alien hordes to prevent them from seizing the Pandorica... but when he finally discovers its true purpose, he may wish he had left it underground.
