Story: Christmas, 1937: After saving the Earth from a hostile armed spaceship, the Doctor crashlands in the London countryside, where a housewife named Madge Arwell forgoes celebrations with her husband and children to help him find his TARDIS.

Christmas, 1940: Wishing to repay Madge's kindness, the Doctor learns that she and her children are being evacuated to a country estate, which he decorates in grand fashion before they arrive. The children's room is full of enthralling toys, the hot and cold spigots have been augmented with a separate tap for lemonade, and under the gaily-decorated Christmas tree in the main sitting room sits a single package... large, glowing, and wrapped in TARDIS-blue paper. When youngest child Cyril finds himself unable to resist the box late on Christmas Eve, his curiosity launches the entire family into an adventure on a faraway planet, where danger stalks the snow-covered forest...
