Creature Feature: Fendahl

Story: In a large priory in the English woods, two scientists - Colby and Thea - are analyzing a skull that was found in an archaeological dig. To their surprise, it was found in a layer several million years too early for human life to have existed. In another part of the priory, scientists Fendelman and Stael begin operating a complex device. The skull begins to glow, and Thea falls under its trance. Outside, in the woods, a hiker falls prey to an evil presence that freezes him where he stands.

The Doctor and Leela come to Fetch Priory in search of a Time Scanner. While Leela goes off on her own and encounters an elderly woman who has been having disturbing dreams, the Doctor is wandering the woods at night when the evil presence appears again, and attacks him.

The Doctor and Leela are soon embroiled in the fight against the Fendahl - a powerful creature from Gallifreyan mythology that embodies death itself. If it is able to co-ordinate its own rebirth, nowhere in the universe will be safe.
