Creature Feature: Vampires

Story: Still in search of a way to escape E-Space, the Doctor, Romana and K9 bring the TARDIS down on a planet that seems to have only one settlement. The center of the Village is an enormous metallic Tower, implying technological advancement, but the villagers are no more than medieval peasants. Technology is outlawed here, and everyone is devoted to the service of the Three Who Rule.

As the Doctor and Romana make for the Tower, Adric - who had stowed away aboard the TARDIS - begins explorations of his own. While he ingratiates himself with the local innkeepers and gets chosen for "Selection", the Doctor and Romana meet the Three Who Rule - the king and queen, Zargo and Camilla, and their councillor, Aukon. When they find themselves prisoners in the throne room, the Doctor and Romana take a look around...and discover that the Tower is actually the Earth spaceship Hydrax which vanished centuries ago.

Underneath the Tower, an ancient evil stirs. And in the night, bats and malevolent creatures swarm. If the Doctor cannot stop the Arising, he and Romana will find themselves on the menu, and Adric might just convert to the other side.
