Story: The TARDIS gets caught in a time tunnel, sending it to a run-down area on twentieth-century Earth. And not only the TARDIS has been drawn to the area - a group of men in futuristic clothes are gunned down by several stone-faced police officers shortly after fleeing one of the warehouses.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the tunnel, a spaceship carrying a very important prisoner is besieged. Its attackers are Daleks, and they have come to fetch the prisoner...Davros, their creator. Davros believes that, in the wake of destruction caused by the Movellan virus, the Daleks have returned to him to seek his help. But the Daleks have different motives, and they have no intention of letting Davros in on the secret.

Turlough accidentally stumbles through the time tunnel, and must avoid the Daleks on their ship. The Doctor and Tegan are kept busy dealing with a bomb squad in the warehouse and various Daleks and Dalek servants that continue to appear from the time tunnel. But few people are what they seem, and the TARDIS crew does not know who they can trust. Double-crossing and manipulation is going on from every side, and only one thing is certain...if the Daleks are able to draw the Doctor into their plans for domination, they do not intend to let him leave alive.
