Story: After her whirlwind trip to the future and the past, Rose is amazed to be returned home a mere twelve hours after her departure, now being one of the few people on Earth who is aware of life outside the solar system. But her joyful homecoming is soured when she learns that it has not, in fact, been twelve hours - it has been twelve months, and her harried mother has almost given up hope of ever finding her daughter alive.
But Rose has more pressing problems than healing the rift with her mother and her boyfriend. London is sent into a state of panic when an alien spacecraft plows into the city, eventually landing in the Thames. As the city bustles with activity, authorities and scientists trying to figure out the mystery of the craft, the Doctor begins to suspect that the crashlanding is hiding a deeper agenda.
