Story: Rose realizes that the TARDIS gives her the opportunity to meet her father, who died shortly after she was born, so she asks the Doctor to take her to her parents' wedding. Seeing her dad again reminds Rose of the stories that her mother used to tell her about him - in particular, that he died alone after being hit by a car.

The Doctor reluctantly agrees to let Rose be present for her father's death, but when the moment arrives, Rose finds herself paralyzed by emotion and unable to move. Tearfully, she begs for another chance so that her dad doesn't have to die alone - and, warning her that they are treading a dangerously thin line, he again agrees. But this time, confronted with her father's imminent death, Rose cannot stop herself from running into the street and tackling him out of the way. With her father's life saved, Rose is relieved that he can finally live his dreams - but the Doctor is aghast, because he knows that the consequences of Rose's actions could very well threaten the entire world.
