Story: During an enforced holiday in Cardiff, as the TARDIS refuels on top of a temporal rift by the bay, the crew's fun is spoiled when they learn that Cardiff has a new mayor: Margaret Blaine, also known as Blon Fel Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen. Alone on the planet Earth, Blaine has devised a plan to build a nuclear power station on the current site of Cardiff Castle... right over the rift.

Concerned that the power station could go critical and destroy the entire planet by opening the rift wider, the Doctor and his companions are determined to stop Blaine. But in the course of putting a halt to her plans, the Doctor and Rose will each have to look within themselves and confront some of the issues that have been bubbling just below the surface.
