The Foamasi are from a planet near Argolis, home of the famed Leisure Hive. This Hive was constructed following the near-utter destruction of Argolis during a twenty-minute war with the Foamasi. Needless to say, the Foamasi are not exactly welcomed with open arms by the survivors.
A reptilian race, with green scaly skin, swivelling eyes, three-fingered claws and a spiny crest and tail, the Foamasi are highly resistant to radiation and are apparently the only creature in the galaxy that could survive in the radioactive shifting sands of Argolis. Their natural language sounds like a mixture of clicks, whistles and smacks, and they often use a poker-chip-shaped voice synthesizer, held in the mouth, to translate.
Foamasi society is structured by lodges, and lodge affilition may be displayed by means of a pin or badge worn on the chest area. Perhaps the most notorious of these is the West Lodge, known for its illegal activity. West Lodge members, and perhaps most Foamasi, are highly adept at disguise, and can make themselves appear to be human although the Foamasi themselves are considerably more bulky than humans. Fortunately for their dealings with the West Lodge, the Foamasi law enforcement possesses an effective device that entraps prisoners by means of a bundle of filaments, immobilizing them until they can be delivered wherever they are to go.
