According to Jacondan mythology, in ancient times the Jacondan Queen committed an offense against the Sun God. Enraged, the Sun God sent a giant half-humanoid, half-slug creature - a gastropod - to the planet. Its offspring devoured all the plant life on the planet, causing the population to starve to death. When the Sun God realized the damage that his actions had brought about, he caused a drought that killed all of the slugs. The Jacondans survived, to flourish on the planet that was once again theirs.
But the story was not just mythology, and a dormant gastropod egg survived for thousands of years. When it hatched, the evil Mestor was born, and the gastropod was soon readying a plan to bring about the rebirth of his species.
The gastropods emit a foul stench due to the rotting vegetables that fill their gastric tracts. They also secrete a slime when they walk that hardens faster than concrete, and can firmly trap a man's feet. Gastropods have very advanced mental powers - they can not only read minds, but also control or even inhabit them. They can emit a green ray which causes its victim to suffer death by embolism, tiny bubbles in the blood that cause irreparable damage to the body.
