Story: A delightful Australian seaside holiday is cut drastically short when men in a hoverboat begin shooting at the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria. The TARDIS trio are rescued by a helicopter pilot named Astrid, who takes them to her boss, Giles Kent, for explanations.

It turns out that the Doctor is the spitting image of a man named Salamander, who is a worldwide hero for inventing a device that effectively ended starvation on Earth. But Salamander is not the purely benevolent man that he at first seems - his ultimate intention is to dominate the entire world, and he is not above using murder as a means to that end.

In order to get proof of Salamander's misdeeds, Jamie gets a job as one of Salamander's guards while Victoria becomes one of his chefs. When their subterfuge is found out, they are captured, and the only way to rescue them is for the Doctor to impersonate Salamander. But pretending to be a man like Salamander comes with dangers on all sides - plenty of people would like to see the man dead, and if Salamander's guards begin to suspect foul play, they have no qualms about killing...
