Story: In a crashed spaceship on the planet Kembel, two men, Marc Cory and Gordon Lowery, wait anxiously for the third member of their party to return from a scouting trip. Soon, their wish is granted, although not quite in the manner that they had wanted - the man returns, crazed, and attempts to kill them. Cory, who knows more about the dangerous planet than Lowery, does not hesitate to shoot the man down. He points out a Varga thorn embedded in the man's skin which was responsible for the drastic change. But when Cory and Lowery go back into the ship, an even more drastic change occurs - their ex-crewmate begins turning into a Varga plant himself...

Cory is an agent of the Space Security Service, tracking Daleks that, he suspects, have set up a base on Kembel. The presence of Varga plants, which only grow on the Daleks' home planet Skaro, confirms his suspicions. When he and Lowery investigate, they learn of a Dalek plan to conquer the entire galaxy. It is up to them to get this information out - but the Daleks soon learn of their existence, and determine to stop them. But between the murderous Daleks and the vicious Varga plants, Cory and Lowery may not be able to escape the planet with their lives...

Notes: This is the only Doctor Who story that does not involve the regular cast. Its function was to serve as a teaser for upcoming story V, The Daleks' Master Plan. Dalek Cutaway is merely a working title.
