Here are a few things of interest to me that didn't really seem to fit anyplace else...so consider this a page of miscellaneous things that I really like and you might, too. Therefore, in alphabetical order:
A neat project to compile an exhaustive list of potential baby names on the Web for prospective parents, in which I took part. I highly recommend the site, even if you just like learning about different names (which I do!). I'm Carson #1, by the way.
A page I prepared after researching this fascinating affliction for one of my classes, Microbial Disease and Human Society...one of the best classes I took at Duke.
The religious organization I was involved with at Duke. We got together every Tuesday night for our regular meeting, as well as many other times during the year just for fun. I met so many wonderful people through Cambridge.
I love ginger, and this company makes a huge variety of delicious ginger products. Try their premium cut crystallized ginger and their delicious ginger chews. Their ginger beer is also one of only three brands I really love (the others being Idris and Barr, makers of the fantastic Irn-Bru) - it has a wonderful ginger flavor without too much bite.
My all-time favorite play! It's a really funny and amazingly clever story of interwoven fairy tales. Joanna Gleason is fantastic! I'm eternally grateful to Sherry Gorse and Kristi Walsh for telling me about it.
All my life I've enjoyed mythology and fairy tales, so the modern-day equivalent naturally holds a lot of interest for me. Tales that "warn us against engaging in risky behaviours by pointing out what has supposedly happened to others who did what we might be tempted to try", many urban legends are passed around as factual stories - I know I was shocked by how many of the ones on this page I had heard and/or believed! Hours of browsing fun!
