I know that every time you look at him,
I'm aware of how long you've known him,
I'm sorry but I don't know what to do,
You say that you have chosen to leave,
The tears start to fall
You just shrug your shoulders and trudge on ahead.
You must learn to forget Tanina Varagona can be reached at malajah1963@juno.com.
BLIND DESIRES
Numbed by desire,
But shocked by change.
Your expectations are limitless,
High in range.
To want more that what's on this Earth,
To travel the universe in desperate search
For your passions, desires, and needs that expand
To grow, to learn, and to understand.
Change is just a small sacrifice
For the greater rewards that might suffice.
Change is what you accepted without mind,
In fear that your future would leave you behind.
Are you happy now with the choice you made?
Wondering the universe in blind crusade.
He warned you but you took no heed,
And now at survival, you must succeed.
Dead bodies piled high.
A shriek of horror,
A word of comfort.
He gives his prospective,
A lecture on salmon, gardens, and life.
She sobs, mourns for the victims.
He holds her tight, soothing away the tears.
A light shines, he frowns, then leads her away.
Movement,
Rustling in the air duct.
Something lurking,
Waiting for the right time
To kill.
Bodies piled in the corner,
A compost heap
Of human beings.
Beware, my children
And may you never feel
The Terror of the Vervoids.
Enter through
The Seventh Door
Into another world.
A world where logic has no meaning.
Where the impossible may happen
And usually does.
Welcome to the Matrix.
A man walks into the room.
Taken from his own time,
He has no knowledge of where he is
Or where he's been.
The Trial begins.
The evidence is presented,
From past, present, and future events.
Condemned
With charges of interferences and genocide.
Threatened
By the darker side of his being.
Pardoned
When he saved the Court Room
And exposed a fraud
Ten million years in the making.
I thought it was just an illusion,
A game to lead me astray
But it rests deep inside of me
And will not go away.
It is a wretched evil,
A cancer from within my soul.
It clings to my subconsciousness
Determined not to let go.
It tries hard to influence my actions,
What I do and what I say.
It transforms those bright colorful thoughts in my mind
To a dark, mourningful gray.
Once it had almost succeeded
In possessing my heart and soul.
I had to push it back with all my might
To prevent myself from falling into that deep hole.
It hasn't vanished completely,
It will remain with me throughout my existence.
But its influence has been restrained and weakened,
Releasing me from the tire of resistance.
A darkness hangs above London today,
Something evil coming our way.
New Year's Eve moves quickly by,
We may overcome this if we try.
No one seems interested, no one seems willing,
But somehow I can't shake this strange feeling.
Vicious creatures roam our streets,
Searching, hunting for fresh human meat.
At the stroke of twelve this world would change,
Become twisted and morphed into something strange.
In the shadow of integrity an ancient evil reborn
Living and thriving on hatred and scorn.
There's only one hope, a man not of this Earth
May lead this city into an age of mirth.
We must support him, we must try
Or London, even the world, will crumple and die.
Darkness.
A movement in the shadows,
A small growl in the dark.
A gate opens, footsteps.
A cord is pulled,
The blood runs freely.
Monsters, bats emerge
And drink eagerly.
The figure leaves, unharmed.
This is the Cave of Blood,
The Tetraps' lair.
If the forbidden enter, they will perish.
And their blood shall run freely.
In the deep emptiness of space
There exists an asteroid,
Suspended in thin air.
Just hanging there.
Hanging...
Meanwhile, on the surface of the planet below...
Geniuses linked together
In one gigantic brain.
A villainess so intelligent,
None can compare to her great mind.
Only one can stop her,
A renegade, a wanderer.
He calls himself "The Doctor".
His past? Unexplained.
Leaning over the balcony,
He sips his drink so contentedly.
He waits while she's inside
Being romanced by a fellow with pride.
He thinks about her time with him,
Knowing she'll leave, thus making things dim.
He is reluctant to let her go,
Fearing she'll also take the memories
And all he had to show
Of their travels and friendship,
Their adventures and hardships.
If she leaves, these will fade away,
But deep in his heart he knows she can't stay.
Struck with sadness, he asks in the morning dawn,
Why must it be so hard to move on?
Silence.
A crackle of energy,
A voice in the darkness.
Discovery.
A bloodied cloak,
A tinge of fear.
Screaming.
A claw reaching out,
A tight squeeze around a neck.
Silence.
The lift stops, opens invitingly.
Ten minutes later:
Screams, struggles in the water.
Drowning.
Claws thrashing about,
Pulling its victim into the depths.
She goes down for the first time.
He shouts, panics.
Second time.
He stares down, willing her head to rise.
Third.
She struggles out.
A gun shot.
Steam rises from the water.
Endless battles, shots and gunfire.
A fearless soldier falls and many more.
A single survivor flees in terror,
She escapes, but not unseen.
Her enemies follow in pursuit, shouting
"Death to the Chimeron Queen!"
Farther off, in another land
Does she flee seeking refuge and life.
It is a strange land, a different time.
And music and laughter fills this place of 1959.
But soon her enemies invade the land,
Causing havoc and terror in their path.
Only by the aid of a mysterious stranger and his companions
Does she and her newly born princess survive.
Then they depart, in danger no more
And go in search of a new life.
The pistol is raised, waiting for the signal.
The bus is loading, waiting eagerly to depart.
She stands patiently by the entrance,
Blinking as the sun shines in her eyes.
The pistol is raised, waiting for the signal.
The bus is loaded, ready to depart.
Brushing back her flame-colored hair, she waves
As the door closes and the engines start.
The pistol fires and the sparks fly.
The bus explodes and the flames soar high.
As the smoke clears, she struggles to her feet,
Shedding a tear for those who died.
A hand grips her arm, a pistol is raised to her head.
But her life is spared by a single plea.
As she and her rescuer are marched away,
She looks back on the ruins and the innocent people slain.
She marches on but her tears remain.
Rainbow light, glittering crystal.
Dragonfire.
A roar in the dark, singing in the distance.
Dragonfire.
Ice all around, another roar.
A shot rings in the darkness.
Dragonfire.
The creature falls, the energy is released.
Creature and Dragonfire, a severed link.
"I suppose it's time."
A reply of mumbles and regrets.
"Time that I should be going."
A reply of surprise.
"Time that I left."
A reply of silence.
Moments pass, he lifts his head.
Eyes sparkle; blue, green, gray.
More mumbles, more regrets, more sadness.
"I'm going now."
He rambles on, stalling her.
She hesitates, he comes to terms.
"Who said anything about home?
I've got much more crazy things to do yet."
A loving embrace.
Don't be afraid,
Let your heart guide the way.
What will you choose?
Will you leave or will you stay?
Don't ignore your fears,
Don't try to hide your tears.
There's no way to escape the fact
That your decisions must be your own.
You feel you must remain.
You feel the strongest need to stay with him
But it's from this you must refrain.
All good things must come to an end.
You must realize where you belong.
You have to take control of your life,
Decide what's right and what is wrong.
I know how badly you want to stay.
But on the other hand you think you've had enough
Of the danger that always comes his way.
You feel undecided and confused,
You don't know which path to take.
Your not sure what it is you want.
Instead of taking action, you hesitate.
You must make this decision on your own.
I know that sometimes that life isn't fair
But some decisions must be made alone.
You say your time with him is at an end.
But as you start to walk out the door,
You turn to gaze back at your friend.
As you bid him one last goodbye.
You turn and walk quickly away,
Not wanting him to see you cry.
After what seems an eternity,
You look back at what you've left behind.
Was it worth it all? You think to yourself.
What did I achieve? What did I hope to find?
Then you start to have second thoughts
On what you've done and what you've said.
Well, it's too late now to change the past.
No more regrets, this tear is your last.
Your memories of him.
It's hard, I know
But you future is waiting,
You must draw from within.
